Third Point Loading Method for Testing Flexural Strength
A Houndsfield H20K-W machine was used to generate Force versus Displacement data and the energy and maximum force were to break the glass sample. This allowed the Modulus of rupture to be calculated, and compared with other ceramic materials.
Fused glass tiles are found to be stronger than average commercial ceramic floor and wall tiles.
